About your Therapist/Trainer
Hello I am Steve Leach. I am a psychotherapist and Registered Hypnotherapist (GHR Accred.), a lecturer in Higher Education, an approved NHS clinical supervisor and a regular speaker at conferences and other events on various issues relating to trauma, emotional and behavioural problems, counselling, psychotherapy and hypnotherapy.
Alongside my private practice as a therapist, supervisor and trainer I work with traumatised children and young people in residential childcare and for several years I was the clinical lead for a private organisation, overseeing provision of several Therapeutic Communities as part of the Royal College of Psychiatrists Community of Communities, I am also the former Chair of Counselling Northwest, a large network group for counsellors and psychotherapists based in Manchester and serving therapists throughout the North West: http://counselling-northwest.org.uk
I have trained with several prominent figures in psychology and hypnosis and hold a number of qualifications in different therapeutic approaches. I am a Senior Accredited member of the National Council of Psychotherapists and hold Senior Qualified Hypnotherapy Practitioner status under the General Hypnotherapy Standards Council. Having almost twenty years experience facilitating change in others through training, consultancy and therapy, I bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to my practice and training. Over the last decade I have managed and coordinated numerous services and projects and have strong links in health and social care, the private and public sector and education, my skills and expertise are recognised at a national level.
My dedication to the helping profession, students and clients is evident in my approach, when we meet you will experience this first hand. I am warm, genuine and passionate about helping and supporting others in overcoming their emotional and behavioural difficulties. I believe that change is inevitable but sometimes we need help in managing it.
